1st Annual BENNYS |
The year is 2014. Breaking Bad has been over for over a year, Survivor has an uninspiring season on, Netflix has become a real network, and miniseries like Fargo and True Detective wallop the quality of more long term projects. When I started this blog way back in the Summer, I wrote my first post about how flawed the annual television awards known as the Emmys are. Not only do I find their nominations to be wrong or wrongly categorized but also their timing is way off! The year that the Emmys measures stretches from August to August. Why not, if we're celebrating the television achievements of the year, go from December to December? It just makes more sense. Thus, I have composed my own Television awards: The Bennys. While maybe not as prestigious as the Emmys, give em time. When this blog goes viral a Benny will be worth real value! This is the inaugural Bennys. The nominations are below! I will begin to announce winners soon.
